Big Dada to relaunch as label for “Black, POC, & Minority Ethnic artists”
The independent label will be run by Black and racialized staffers.
British indie label Big Dada, responsible for releasing acclaimed projects from Wiley, Young Fathers, Run The Jewels, and more, has announced a relaunch. The label will re-establish itself as a home for “Black, POC, & Minority Ethnic artists” and will be run by staffers of similar descents from Ninja Tune, Big Dada's distributor.
"Working to amplify Black and racialized artists voices," the label said in a press release, "Big Dada looks to shift the narrative around this music, bypassing stereotypes to allow and encourage freedom to express oneself for who they are and want to be."

A team of like-minded individuals working together to form a community that champions, shines a light on, supports & nourishes the music & artists.
Working to amplify Black and racialized artists voices, Big Dada looks to shift the narrative around this music, bypassing stereotypes to allow and encourage freedom to express oneself for who they are and want to be.
Big Dada has a long history and heritage which will be built upon whilst deepening its cultural identity by supporting & offering resources to a new generation of artists.

Big Dada was founded in 1997 by Will Ashon, who left in 2014. The label's relaunch comes with sustainably sourced merchandise and a website featuring legal advice, mental health support for racialized artists, editorials on different global music scenes, and more.
