The Horrors return with new song “Lout”
The band embrace an industrial sound ahead of new EP, due next month.
U.K. rock band The Horrors have shared their first new material since 2017. Check out new song "Lout" below. "Lout" will appear on an EP of the same name, due March 5 via Wolf Tone/Virgin Music Label & Artist Services. Two tracks from the EP, "Lout" and "Orb," will also be released on limited edition blood red 7” vinyl.
"Lout" showcases a harder, more industrial sound from the band, whose most recent album V was produced by Paul Epworth. In a statement, frontman Faris Badwan said: “'Lout' is about the relationship between choice and chance, compulsive risk-taking and pushing your luck. As a band, particularly live, we’ve always had an aggressive side and as we began writing new songs it became clear that we were heading in that direction.”
Bassist Rhys Webb added: “It’s the nastiest music we've made since Strange House. An intense barrage of industrial noise. A return to the spirit and attitude of our debut LP but blasted into the future.”
The Horrors released debut album in 2007. More recently Badwan worked with the late SOPHIE, producing artists including Let's Eat Grandma alongside the late musician.
