Since breaking out with his now-defunct NYC rap trio Ratking, Wiki has never stopped challenging himself. The solo projects Lil Me, No Mountains in Manhattan, and Oofie have all been confident statements of an assured individuality, and the pattern continues on his latest release. Telephonebooth is a collaborative project with NAH, an Antwerp-based producer whose beats sound like the original promise of the internet: obscure, almost forgotten information (in this case, musical samples) retooled into a new experience. They're flashy with their unusual rhythms, but Wiki has the pedigree to keep sturdily in their pockets. Listen below on Bandcamp.
