Watch J. Cole’s documentary Applying Pressure: The Off-Season
The film comes ahead of his new album The Off-Season, out this Friday.
J. Cole's new album The Off-Season is out this Friday, and today the rapper has shared a new documentary short film entitled Applying Pressure: The Off-Season Documentary.
The 12-minute film, opens with a conversation between Cole and 21 Savage, outlines the concepts behind Cole's sixth studio album and how he approached creating it. "I had to make a real decision," he says, "are you okay getting comfortable chilling, mailing it in, waiting around on inspiration... When I thought about that feeling, I thought "nah, I'm not cool with that.'"
Throughout the clip, Cole hints that The Off-Season and his upcoming project The Fall Off may be among his last releases as a rapper. "Now that the possibility of not doing this shit seems real, and I'm at peace with that," he says, "don't have a regret."
The Off-Season is out May 14. This Sunday, Cole will make his debut playing basketball for the Rwandan Patriots basketball club.
