Normani returns with new song “Fair”
“This song really captures me in one of my most vulnerable moments,” Normani.
Normani has dropped her first new music of the year. "Fair" is a tender ballad co-written by the former Fifth Harmony member alongside Abby Keen, Bernard “Harv” Harvey, and Felisha King Harvey. Normani performed the song live on Thursday's Tonight Show to coincide with its release. Check out both versions below.
“This song really captures me in one of my most vulnerable moments,” Normani said in a statement. “Sharing this record makes me uncomfortable because you have never really seen me in this light. Definitely aware that you might feel like you don’t know much about me but that’s only because it’s what makes me feel protected. I am really forcing myself to let go here. This is huge for me and hopefully this piece of art resonates. Love is beautiful yet so soooo terrifying. I adore you guys to the moon and back.”
"Fair" follows Normani's 2021 single "Wild Side," a collaboration with Cardi B. She also made a cameo appearance in Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar's "Family Ties" video. A year prior to that she shared Megan Thee Stallion-featuring "Diamonds," taken from the soundtrack to Margot Robbie comic book movie Birds of Prey, while her breakout solo single "Motivation" dropped in 2019.
