Diddy shares The Weeknd collaboration in new Beats ad
Future NFL star Kayvon Thibodeaux stars in the wireless headphones campaign.
A new collaboration by Diddy and The Weeknd provides the soundtrack to the latest Beats By Dre campaign. The minute-long Beats Fit Pro advert, see below, features an unreleased song by the two artists. The ad is fronted by college football player Kayvon Thibodeaux, who will go into the NFL draft this week. The clip is narrated by Thibodeaux’s mother, Shawnta Loice.
Last summer Diddy announced plans to release a new album, his first since 2015’s MMM. However, the project, titled Off the Grid Vol. 1, failed to materialise on the September date he teased at the time. Diddy signed on to work with new manager Wassim “Sal” Slaiby, who also represents The Weeknd, around the same time.
The Weeknd, meanwhile, is fresh off the back of two headline performances at Coachella. He stepped into the slot alongside Swedish House Mafia when Kanye West dropped out. Later this year he will embark on a stadium tour in support of latest album Dawn FM alongside opener Doja Cat.
