Thundercat collaborates with Prospect Flow on new clothing line
Thundercat X MUTSU is available now.
Thundercat has revealed the first drop in a new collaboration with LA-based brand Prospective Flow. The clothing line, Thundercat X MUTSU, launches today and is comprised of hoodies and sweatpants that incorporate the musician's logo and a cartoon image of his face.
"I’m really excited about what we have created!" Thundercat said in a statement. "I hope you love the work and care that has been put into the first of a beautiful collaboration between Mutsu and I. Please enjoy!!!"
A spokesperson for Prospective Flow added: "Thundercat reached out to us several years ago letting us know he has been wearing Prospective Flow clothes for some time, and asked if we would be interested in meeting up to discuss potentially making an exclusive one of one piece for him. Thundercat and our designer Mutsu became fast friends, sharing a love of music, fashion, anime and more. This lead to the discussion of a Thundercat & Prospective Flow collaborative line, so these hoodies and sweatpants are the first items being released from this ongoing partnership. Patchwork is a core theme of Mutsu's designs, so we wanted to put that element into the collaboration, which contains his drawing of Thundercat as the large chenille patch on the back of the hoodie. Mutsu got so much inspiration from Thundercat, and we look forward to continuing this partnership."
Thundercat recently revealed a raft of tour dates that will take him across the globe throughout 2022. He will open for Red Hot Chili Peppers on their global tour before headlining his own run of North American shows in the summer.
Earlier this year, Thundercat made his acting debut in the Disney+ Star Wars series The Book of Boba Fett. In December 2021, he shared a new song "Satellite," which appeared on the soundtrack of the final season of Insecure. Thundercat's most recent album, It Is What It Is, was released in 2020 and won Best Progressive R&B Album at the 2021 Grammy Awards.
