Courtney Marie Andrews announces new album Loose Future
Listen to new song “Satellite” now.
Courtney Marie Andrews has revealed details of her next album. Andrews will release Loose Future on October 7 via Fat Possum. A first taste of the album, "Satellite," can be found below alongside a video in which she hops on a bicycle and chases spacecrafts through the Catskill Mountains.
"I’ve written a lot of love songs, but there’s always a tinge of heartbreak,” Andrews says in a statement. "But 'Satellite' is a love song without caveats. I wanted to look forward, and fall in love with the mystery of someone. Let love in, without questioning or instigating how it might hurt me.
Sonically, I wanted to go to space. This kind of love isn’t earthbound."
Loose Future is the follow-up to Andrews' 2020 Grammy-nominated Old Flowers. The album is co-produced by Sam Evian (Big Thief, Cassandra Jenkins, Anna Burch) and recorded at his Flying Cloud Recordings studio in the Catskill Mountains. Album credits
include Grizzly Bear's Chris Bear on drums and Josh Kaufman on multiple instruments.
