Little Dragon announce new EP, share “Frisco”
Opening The Door is out September 16 via Ninja Tune.
From the heyday of the blog era to the streaming present, Little Dragon have consistently released fun and challenging indie pop music. It's no small feat when you consider how often the sound of the moment switches up, but the Swedish group, led by Yukimi Nagano's soaring vocals, keep things sounding timeless. They'll return with a new three-track EP called Opening The Door on September 16, and today they've dropped its lead single "Frisco." It's a techno-pop song split between a sparse, neo-soulful section and a more ascendent conclusion, the kind of beguiling dancefloor cool that demands a Caribou collaboration ASAP.
"Frisco" is about “renewal, letting out your full potential and moving with the wave of change and life," Little Dragon revealed in a statement. Of their new EP, the band wrote: “Opening The Door represents being brave and moving forward into the unknown. Endless possibilities and embracing uncertainty. We have so much new music to share, and it feels like we are finally opening the door and releasing it out from our bubble and into the universe!”
