Caroline Polachek shares new song/video “Sunset”
The follow-up to “Billions” has arrived.
Caroline Polachek has returned with “Sunset,” her second song of 2022. The track was produced by Sega Bodega: the producer for Shygirl, Eartheater, and more who released his fourth album, Romeo, last year.
On first listen, I love this track, and not because the instrumental reminds me of the “Gerudo Valley“ theme from The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time. Polachek sounds as unmoored as usual against this new and exciting soundscape of handclaps, energetically strummed Balearic guitars, and her own inimitable vocal talents, every note sounding lifted from a lost civilization’s musical staffs. Polachek co-directs the video with Matt Copson, shot in Barcelona and streaming below.
This year, Caroline Polachek has shared a new song called “Billions“ and appeared on Flume‘s single “Sirens.” She was forced to cancel her opening slots for Dua Lipa after suffering an ankle injury.
