Pharrell adds De La Soul, MIA, and A$AP Rocky to Something In The Water line-up
Arcade Fire have also joined the bill for the Virginia Beach event.
Something In The Water, Pharrell‘s annual music and culture festival, is returning to Virginia Beach later this month. The lineup for the three-day event, which runs from April 28-30, was announced in March with an eclectic set of names confirmed, ranging from Lil Uzi Vert to Kamasi Washington via Grace Jones and Skrillex.
When the initial line-up was shared, Pharrell’s Phriends — a medley spanning Pharrell’s career with special guests — was billed as the main attraction. Today those “phriends” have been revealed as A$AP Rocky, MIA, and De La Soul. Ticket holders can expect a few suprises, too, with “Some people we can’t announce” teased by organizers.
Jonas Brothers and Third Eye Blind have also been added to the 2023 line-up, as have Arcade Fire. The Canadian band have not performed thus far in 2023 but wrapped a tour for latest album WE late last year. The tour was mired in controversy after multiple allegations of sexual misconduct were made against frontman Win Butler. Butler denied the claims and said the relationships in question were consensual.
