Armand Hammer announce new album with lead single “Trauma Mic”
We Buy Diabetic Test Strips is due out September 29.
Armand Hammer, the NYC rap duo of billy woods and ELUCID, have officially announced their eight studio album. Following their 2021 cult favorite Haram, produced by The Alchemist, they'll deliver We Buy Diabetic Test Strips on September 29 via Fat Possum Records.
The record features the likes of Junglepussy, Moneynicca of Soul Glo, and jazz composer Shabaka Hutchings, who sat down with ELUCID and engineer Willie Green for a studio session that helped set up form the album's foundation.
"This sort of reverse engineering of talented players who met for the first time in the studio jamming to pre-recorded beats before splintering off into new directions," ELUCID said in a press statement. "Being in the room quietly watching 4 people fumble around each other's sonic worlds before finally locking into a solid groove was a clear and obvious magical moment for me."
Today (August 2), they've released the project's lead single, "Trauma Mic," featuring Pink Siifu and produced by DJ Haram.
Starting in October, Armand Hammer will embark on a 29-date world tour behind the newly announced LP. The duo will be hitting cities across the U.S., as well as London, Berlin, and Paris.
