Seye Adelekan shares new single “Homerton Ocean View”
Hear the second single from the London-based artist’s forthcoming EP, A River.
Seye Adelekan is perhaps best known for his role as the touring bassist in Gorillaz, though today the London-based artist is stepping out with a new solo single called “Homerton Ocean View.” A euphoric fusion of bossa nova and progressive R&B melodies, the second single from Adelekan’s forthcoming EP A River positions romantic love as a deep and cool oasis.
“I moved to Homerton in November just before heading to Iceland where I wrote this song,” Adelekan says in a press statement. “It was the mixed feelings of being in winter time, feeling the lack of sun but being in love with my partner and still finding that summer feeling in the darkness. The feelings you have for someone can change the weather somehow.”
Hear the song in its music video below; it stars Adelekan and a whole lot of sunflowers taking in little moments of peace within the city, whether in a park or on the subway.
