Drake shares “8am In Charlotte” ahead of For All the Dogs
The rapper’s new album is scheduled to arrive on Friday.
Drake has dropped a new song titled "8AM In Charlotte" as he gears up to release his latest solo album this week. For All The Dogs is due on Friday and will likely feature this new song, which features Drake rapping over looped soul samples and a melancholy piano.
"8AM In Charlotte" comes with a video starring Drake's son, Adonis. The video opens with the child explaining the artwork he created for his dad's new album. It includes a goat with the word "daddy" written next to it. When Adonis says that it's "Daddy's goat," Drake replies, “That makes perfect sense to me."
For All The Dogs was originally due to be released on September 22 but was pushed back so Drake could honor the final dates of his It's All A Blur tour. Wanting to avoid letting down ticket holders, he opted to play the shows and finish the album later. Since then he has managed to upset both Halle Berry and Charlamagne, drop a song with SZA, and reward a popular BBL surgeon with a crate of OVO merch.
