Peezy shares “Intro” video, 2024 tour dates
The Flint rapper’s new album Ghetto is out now.
Just over a week ago, Flint rapper Peezy released a new full-length project called GHETTO. “Intro,” the album’s opening track, is a stark depiction of Peezy’s upbringing and a celebration of escaping its trappings. That same level of detail is brought to the track’s music video, streaming above. Justice Silvera directs the clip, cutting between Peezy and an actor who appears to be a stand-in for the rapper before he became a star. The real Peezy raps in the studio and picnics with his family, mourning those who couldn’t be there and ruminating on what he had to do to break free; meanwhile, the Peezy double gets up, catches a bus, and heads to work. It’s a testament to how good editing can really help a simple narrative flourish. Watch that above, and check out Peezy’s just-announced 2024 tour dates below, spanning 16 cities across the United States.
