Watch Naomi Sharon’s “Time And Trust” video
Sharon’s new album Obsidian is out now.
Naomi Sharon's new album Obsidian, released earlier this month via Drake's OVO Sound, is a collection of sleek and R&B songs that drape soft production off the Dutch-Caribbean artist's vulnerable lyrics. Sharon says "love is a wicked game" on the album's lead single "Another Life" and that suspicious nature runs through the record like a tear in a satin sheet.
Today Sharon shares a video for the Obsidian track "Time and Trust." Again she remains wary of a romantic situation, singing "time and trust don’t go together" over a sumptuous mid-tempo beat courtesy of producers Beau Nox and Alex Lustig. The paranoia and caution doesn't detract from the warmth of Sharon's voice, though, which remains a calming presence among the choppy waters she often finds herself in.
The song comes with a video showcasing candid moments from Sharon's life, including red carpet walks and photo shoots but also more homely shots, such as spending time at a baseball match and relaxing at home. It's laid back and unassuming, a lot like Sharon's music. Check it out below.
