BLACKPINK’s Lisa cast in the new season of The White Lotus
She joins Parker Posey and Walton Goggins in the upcoming third season.
Lisa from the K-pop group BLACKPINK will make her acting debut in the upcoming third season of The White Lotus. The casting news was first announced by Variety. Lisa's role on the HBO anthology show remains under wraps, with very few details about the upcoming season currently available.
The first raft of cast members for the new season of the show were announced last month. Parker Posey, Jason Isaacs, Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, and Aimee Lou Wood lead the cast with writer Mike White slated to return as director. Additional cast members include Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and the returning Natasha Rothwell. Earlier this month actor Milos Bikovic was removed from the cast after Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs accused him of supporting the Russian invasion.
The White Lotus will begin production in Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok, Thailand later this month. Mike White said in 2023 that he was looking to make “a satirical and funny look at death and eastern religion and spirituality.”
Lisa is not the first member of BLACKPINK to be cast in an HBO drama. Last year her bandmate Jennie appeared in The Weeknd's ill-fated series The Idol, playing a dancer with plans to deceive the main character played by Lily-Rose Depp.
