Unsurprisingly, Rainbow Bridge's video for their surf anthem, "Big Wave Rider," features VHS footage of surfers. Surfers surfing waves frothed like champagne, surfers doing spins, surfers glowing in their post tube blowout. We have nothing against this video, it's quite suiting, but we also like what we now deciding is the unofficial video for "Big Wave Rider," which is YouTube user "finestkiss"'s crowd footage of Rainbow Bridge playing the song live. Wait until about 1:45, when you see the kinda awkward duo blossom through the giant power of their riffs and crashes. Nothing's more fun to watch than triumph over adversity. We knew those old surfers were gonna pummel through the barrel—we didn't know Rainbow Bridge was going to come out of its shell. (via p4k)
