This is from a split cassette release on Bathetic and, beyond the zeitgeistical lo-fi connotations of the sound quality, it's actually awesomely similar to listening to a cassette off a boombox in the bathroom of your mom's house even though it's an mp3. (Didn't everyone listen to their boombox in the bathroom? We were all golden with it until the speakers got clogged out with hairspray.) It also suits Cloud Nothings' union of Dinosaur Jr-descendant, unruly guitar noise and breathless man vocals, like speeding real fast on a sled down a hill, the thrill of the experience only amplified by the fact that there's a slight chance you'll bust up your face at the bottom.
