It's been awhile since we heard from Tame Impala, but based on this promo video they've gone from small Australian psych band to pretty popular band that has a whole lot of fun on stage and tours with MGMT. We don't often wish we were in bands (we're writers, that shit is glamorous enough—JOKES!), but all that grainy footage of guitar pedals, backlit bandanas, blurry crowds...we could get down pretty easily. We'll start playing guitar and maybe by the time the band releases InnerSpeaker this summer on Modular, we'll be ready to play. Actually, what will most likely happen (we know this because it has already started) is we'll just put this excellent Canyons remix of "41 Mosquitos" on repeat and not really do anything else. Like, it is called "Canyons 41 Mojitos Poolside Mix", what kind of vibes do you get from that? Relaxed ones? Because there are a lot of those there—but there's also flute and delayed saxophone that makes us feel like we're lost in the desert. Those parts are slightly unnerving and hallucinogenic.
