When you're in your early teens you have to get out of town any way possible. That meant going on weird road trips with our parents and our friend's parents. It meant hours of hot car rides listening to stoner rock on discman headphones and eating soft serve ice cream until we got sick. If they had existed during this time, we would have been blasting Black Mountain constantly, but at that point they were probably just a small notion in the brain of Black Mountain Grand Wizard Stephen McBean. But "Old Fangs" validates every thought we've ever had about Black Mountain's lost connection to our youth. If only we'd had this when barreling down the highway as helpless 13-year-olds.
