They used to play !!! at Hollertronix. Maybe the best party those who went to will ever go to, Diplo and Low Budget would slip in their 2003 single, "Me and Giuliani Down by the School Yard" in moments between Moroccan sounding dancehall riddims and Justin Timberlake. And in !!! in the middle of Pigbag horns and disco drums, would stick in moments of guitar ecstasy that would be just as appropriate in the mud fields of Bonnaroo as they were in a sweaty Philadelphia Ukranian event hall turned dance club. !!! are the perfect hybrid. With their new album, Strange Weather, Isn't It?, and single "AM/FM," they continue to keep the low-end at the forefront, adding some intergalactic didgeridoo effects. "AM/FM," with a little bit of summer guitar, has got shades of frontman Nic Offer's other beloved group, Out Hud, and that is always a good thing. Looking forward to seeing "AM/FM" played on a boombox on a roof. If you've got a portable turntable, you can do that soon enough, too, when the clear vinyl single comes out—pick that up from Bleep. At the right party, this is gonna be a DJ's secret weapon. Oh, and did we mention that Black Dice directed the video? It's like a rainbow being sprayed through a hose.
