In this mix he made for Gilles Peterson, he does just that, cleaving the visceral from the historical, playing burbly, diamond-like new tracks of his own, and older works by other people that influenced him to get busy on the rack. Not a traditional straight-through mix, the soft-spoken producer and Gilles discuss where he's going between each song, where he fits in in the beatscape, and what goes through his mind when he's making his pretty rhythms. Old man Bacon would likely give him a pound.
