The Drums' Brit-punky cover sounds nothing like the original, but singer Jonathan Pierce and Arcade Fire leader Win Butler each have that lethargic snottiness to their stretched-out vocals, like they've just finished weeping or dry-heaving over a break-up. The throat-frog is one of the most emphatically emotional sounds in man-rock—far lesser dudes have made careers out of it—and after listening to both versions of "We Used to Wait," we feel like doling out free hugs to all. Drums are going on a UK tour starting in November, so get on that—dates and new video for "Down By the Water" after the jump.
