You may remember director Kent Hugo from his work on Babe Rainbow's "Combed," which, musically is absolutely nothing like this song from Vadoinmessico. "In Spain" is a lot poppier, upbeat acoustic guitar shuffle and idiosyncratic vocals jammed into just a little over three minutes. Tracking the adventures of a pair of cats (so popular right now), Hugo melds drawings and cutouts and real world images into a surreal, constantly moving whole. Sometimes you watch a video, and you're like, Man this person half-assed it because they knew it was just going to be an internet only kind of thing, but on both occasions Hugo has provided that extra bit of craftsmanship that basically asks: Why can't everyone work hard on this internet video stuff?
