On Friday night in Manhattan, Jay Electronica and his people filled out The Box to trumpet his joining with dubious and tiny super-diva Willow Smith as a member of Jay-Z's Roc Nation. This comes as a loss to Diddy, who hoped to sign Jay after working with him for more than a year. Things got fussy over the weekend in the tweets:
This looks messy from all angles but he tried to clean it up after the fact:
For his part, Jay wants the world to know that betrayal is a serious thing (we agree) that probably shouldn't be leveled at corporate entities such as Sean Carter in 140 characters or less. But he's not exactly blushing timid, either.
Remember when Kanye was freshman of the Roc? On "Last Call" all, I take my chain, my fifteen seconds of fame, and come back next year with the whole fucking game? Well! Here's to you Jay Electronica. Believe in the power of your own freedom and ego and stretch that fifteen far into the future. In the meantime, expect Jay's collabo with Jay-Z "Shiny Suit Theory" as a holiday treat sooner not later.
