Pierce and Pierce was the name of Patrick “Chainsaw” Bateman’s investment firm in American Psycho. The existence of this was weird and helpful, but it took us a minute to begin piecing this whole thing together. In the book version there’s a sign in a movie theater, “This Is Not Exit,” and Bateman’s just staring at it. That’s how it all ends. Maybe he’s in hell, maybe he just thinks he is. But the Pierce and Pierce producers from Denmark are honestly not that morbid. They make it really easy for you to download their music; the whole EP is free on their Tumblr. It’s a kindly thing to do. The space between the rolling bleeps can feel a little icy, but their sound is more bleak clothes dance music than actually bleak. How upsetting can a clap loop be? The I Simply Am Not There EP (quoting guess who) is zero dollars and on the internet.
