A barrage of inflammatory comments (see screenshots) were posted on Soulja Boy's 5,401,248 fans-deep Facebook page over the weekend. The rant—against detractors "liking" an artist's page to post criticism there—was targeted at white gay men: "I'm gonna keep talking shit to these white faggots until they unlike my page. Fucking weirdo stalkers!"
Today, in a statement to TMZ, Soulja Boy claims the rabid wall posts were not his own. "I wanted to clear the air and let everyone know that my Facebook got hacked. I had administrators on my account that no longer work with me. The hackers used these old accounts to post hateful messages. This was not done by me or anyone on my team and I'm upset that I am being labeled as a racist and homophobic person."
This is like Weinergate, for the rest of us (though Soulja's already proudly owned up to his PG-13 dick pic)! Do you believe Soulja got hacked? Are you bummed that the sweet nothings on his Facebook, Twitter and brilliantly designed Tumblr accounts may not be direct musings, but those of a network administrator? Perhaps Soulja Boy should protect himself from online haters in the same way he's done so in real life. Writer Felipe Delerme, who traveled to Atlanta to write Soulja Boy's FADER #74 cover feature, observed the substantive hazard of Soulja's everyday routine. "He has bodyguards with him everywhere he goes. The haters are real. Soulja Boy's haters are very genuine."
