Seems like six-minute songs spearheaded by emotional ladies are popping out of the woodwork left and right these days, from Niki and the Dove, Class Actress, Florence Welch and Glass Candy. Au/Palais' contemplative siren sings with restraint, her presence barely-there. She doesn't bombard with magnitude or woeful wallop. The band say they record their music at night. "Tender Mercy" is perfect music for walking home from the party that turned sour. Au/Palais' Tender Mercy EP is due in November, on London label, The Sounds of Sweet Nothing. Bring on the heartbreak.
