If you've got a good handle on the internet (or your own memory), you'll remember that unfinished version of "I Do" by Young Jeezy and Andre 3000 that leaked a couple summers ago. It was clearly unfinished but still very promising, and also the fact that we first heard a nascent version of it in August 2010 is just another notch in the LONG DELAYED JEEZY ALBUM BELT. We're happy to say that we've now heard a finished version of the song, which also includes a Jay-Z verse (surprise!). In addition to being pretty incredible, and quite possibly our wedding song whenever we eventually get married, it's also the immediate standout from Thug Motivation: 103, which we heard the bulk of last night in a crowded room with Jeezy holding court. For the most part it's what you expect from a Young Jeezy album: lots of hard songs to the point that even the soft songs are actually just slightly less hard songs. But here's the thing about Jeezy that he never really gets much credit for: He's not really an album artist in the sense that his albums usually drag on a bit too long, but on a song-by-song basis, he's a master. Every one of Jeezy's songs taken alone works on a basic level, to the point that he nailed a bombastic formula so early on that it's still being imitated today. Maybe that was reason for the delay, or maybe he was just waiting for that verse from Jay—whatever the case, "I Do" (or whatever it ends up being called) is going be the soundtrack to every wedding ever for a little while. If it somehow isn't, we're going to just hang out near any wedding we can find with a boombox blasting it. Sorry for ruining your wedding! Thug Motivation: 103 is out December 20th.
