Sunny California pop punk will never really get old as long as the songs are this good. Colleen Green is putting out a record on Art Fag, which has also put out releases from Best Coast, Dum Dum Girls and Bleached, so you'd think the room would be a little crowded with crunching guitars and songs about the summer, but somehow—and this is probably a testament to the perfectly simple songwriting and lovely voice—"Goldmine" sounds just as refreshing today as it would at any other moment in music history. Also: she wins points for liking The Descendents enough to name her full-length Milo Goes to Compton, which you can pre-order here.
