On Tuesday, Oneohtrix Point Never was the guest on DJ Rupture's Mudd Up radio show on WFMU. Along with some of his originals and songs from releases on his Software album, OPN played his as-yet (and never to be) released remix of Philip Glass’ score for Godfrey Reggio's film Koyaanisqatsi. In an interview last November, OPN's Daniel Lopatin told us about the remix: "I was asked by the office of Beck Hansen to do a remix for Phillip Glass’ 75th birthday remix record. And I did it. And it got rejected. ... And that’s fine, to be honest. But I thought I’d done a really good remix. I was pretty stoked, I thought that I’d done something worthwhile and they were flat out like, 'No, this is not good enough.' I’m interested to see what makes it onto that. Probably stuff that’s more palatable." The lineup for the remix project, out June 26th, was announced this week, including submissions from Beck, Nosaj Thing, Ty Braxton, Memory Tapes and others. See the tracklist and listen to the entire show or head straight for the remix.
