Coachella is not landlocked anymore. It has been announced that the festival will take to the sea for two rounds this upcoming December via the S.S. Coachella, 122,000-ton ship that can host 2,800 attendees. The first leg will take place on December 16th-19th and travels to the Bahamas immediately followed by a trip to Jamaica on December 19th-23rd. Pulp, who, in a comeback year, performed at last April's festival will headline along with Hot Chip, Sleigh Bells, El-P and Killer Mike, among others. Coachella purists need not fret about the need for ground, though, as the ship has a half acre of grass. Says Goldenvoice promoter Paul Tollet, "It wouldn’t be Coachella without grass."
