Cash Money Hot Boy B.G. was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison on Wednesday, the fallout from a 2009 traffic stop that resulted in weapons charges. Born Christopher Dorsey, he's 31 now but, rapping in a grainy, confessional style, he's often appeared prematurely old, an attribute aggravated by heroin addiction. "Thugged Out," a highlight from Cash Money's Baller Blockin movie soundtrack and label compilation, was an atypical production for producer Mannie Fresh. Its plucked synth line was like a fatter version of the intro to Nas' "The Message," and the chord changes shaped B.G.'s vocals, giving them an extra emotional heft.
