Many Chicago rappers have signed major label deals in 2012, and while Chief Keef's deal was perhaps the most visible, YP’s was the first. Before he was picked up by Universal, YP built a name for himself with a series of mixtapes and singles that showcased his bar-filling, east coast-influenced flow. (Occasionally, he reminds me of forgotten Chicago north side rappers Jiggs & Cheeks.) The Tony Baines-produced "Want Money" comes from YP's latest tape, No Doz, which also features a rare appearance from currently-incarcerated Chicago forefather Bump J.
