Minimalism has been all over the Paris runways of late, and now a US label, Proper Gang, is hoping to infuse some of that clean, sleek spirit into smartly cut New York streetwear. Designer Max Vanderwoude Gross considers the boxy fit and sport-influenced silhouettes of Proper Gang to be the stateside answer to Pheobe Philo and Parisian label Celine, with, of course, a touch of Supreme streetwise gear. "My ideal client would be someone like Pusha T," says Gross. Based in NYC and manufactured in the USA, Gross uses high end materials like Sea Island pima cotton and tropical wools, and he elevates wardrobe basics like the white tee, oxford shirt and bluejeans to loftier, high-end heights. He also scored model-of-the-moment and Bensonhurst-bred Matthew Logos to wear it with proper swag. For more info, stockists, and a soon-to-come online shop check their website.
