Filmed on location in Yonkers, NY, the Andreas Nilsson-directed video for 2 Chainz’s "Birthday Song" featuring Kanye West is a bizarre skew on a party that subverts the literal theme. Nilsson, who is responsible for unique clips like Miike Snow's "The Wave" and Yeasayer's "Madder Red,", described his "Birthday" treatment as, "a little bit of a combination of Beetlejuice and Deep Throat." It's something that leans more toward West's idea of a good time than 2 Chainz's usual at-the-bar and in-the-strip-club visuals, but a nice celebration of his debut album Based on a T.R.U. Story, which is available now.
