We've checked in with Kid Smpl a few times this fall, and now the up-and-coming Seattle producer has made good on the promise of those tracks, releasing his proper debut album, Skylight, on Hush Hush—out digitally now, and with CDs and vinyl in a few weeks. The whole thing is streaming on Bandcamp, but jump into "Nearing" first, one the LP's softer standouts, with a vocal sample that sounds the way the dusty, early-morning glow of a streetlight looks, plus some great munching snares.
