We announced FADER #83, our new issue featuring cover stars Miguel and Christopher Owens, last week. But yesterday, we looked back at FADER #82, which Hurricane Sandy prevented us from celebrating at the time of its release. Budweiser hooked up the bar downtown at Open House, the same venue where Boiler Room New York hosted subterranean shows over the summer. Guests including Ducktails and Le1f sipped vitaminwater and a special "Shot Caller" Ciroc cocktail (grapefruit juice was involved) while DJ/Rupture, author of the issue's feature on new electronic music in Egypt, blended dancehall and Angel Haze, followed by Arca, whose set included Hole and his own jam "Broke Up." Around that point, cover star French Montana came through wearing a studded leather jacket, posting up by the DJ booth with an entourage that included Trina and Renee from Mob Wives. For a wonderfully weird moment, he rocked to Arca, then threw on some of his own songs. Then French opened a belated birthday present, a flask embossed with his FADER cover and #Fanute.
