UPDATE 11/30/12: In an interview with Fast Company, R. Kelly has claims that the Trapped in the Closet book from the saga's new chapters will become a real, published book. The tome will allegedly function as a prequel to the Trapped series, introducing readers to the before-lives of his characters. Kelly is no stranger to the publishing industry, as he released a memoir, Soulacoaster, earlier this year. Watch Gary Oldman read excerpts from that book here.

As promised, IFC debuted new chapters of R. Kelly’s R&B opera Trapped in the Closet last Friday. Those familiar with the franchise will notice that these new additions follow a different structure than the original 22 chapters. Where before many plots were woven into one another in long installments, the new chapters act as more distinct pieces of one story, with less intricate overlap. There's also reality TV-style confessional clips now, and off-genre filler music between scenes. If you missed the airing of the new chapters last week, IFC is still replaying the hour-long presentation on TV. For folks that don't have cable, the channel is releasing short, single chapters online each day for the next two weeks. We'll collect the new chapters here as they surface, follow along below.
