There's something pretty gangster about adorning the front cover of your debut album with a slightly lopsided, cartoon drawing on a crumpled piece of paper—especially when the subject is something so inexplicably funny as the sunglassed "fashion lady" above. Of course, there's an irony to all this, because Gobby's self-described "Techno Ass Album” takes a musical language that is unusually fashionable these days in the noise scene (loosely, "dance music") and speeds it up so far past the point of immediate digestibility that it ends up coming out the other end, and just being exhilarating.
