Beastie Boys Michael Diamond and Adam Horowitz have signed a book deal for a memoir to be released in 2015 with Spiegel & Grau, the Random House imprint that published Jay-Z's Decoded, the New York Times reports. Beastie Boys agent Luke Janklow says the group had talked for several years about creating a book, but plans were set aside as Adam Yauch battled cancer. Loosely based on an oral history and reminiscent of the group's short-lived '90s magazine Grand Royal, the book is less straight memoir than "multidimensional experience," says publisher Julie Grau. It will join writing by the two surviving members with contributions from other writers. Sacha Jenkins, the founder of ego trip, will edit.
