About a year ago, we posted an earwormy R&B cut from Child Actor, the New England cousin duo of vocalist Sedgie Ogilvy and composer/beatsmith Max Heath. Now, they've linked up with Seattle/Oakland production duo Blue Sky Black Death, whose past credits include beats for Nacho Picasso, Deniro Farrar and a whole bunch of television commercials. If the 11-minute, multi-part epic "II" is any indication, I can imagine these to be the sort of commercials that kind of move you in spite of yourself. The pace is slow and meditative, the arrangements are balmy and sprawling, and that little Bollywood sample peppered throughout gives you that ultra-modern, we-are-just-one-global-village feeling that most air travel companies would probably go bananas for. Anyway, totally outside that context, it's a very pretty track, and you can hear more from Blue Sky Black Death when their new album Glaciers comes out on October 1st, via Fake Four.
