Soviet Soviet is the Pesaro, Italy-based post-punk trio of vocalist and bassist Andrea Giometti, guitarist Alessandro Costantini and drummer Alessandro Ferri. "1990" offsets an ominous, cutting guitar riff with wonderfully spirited, Halloweeny vocals, but the real catharsis occurs when the whole thing switches unexpectedly from minor to major about half-way through. It's the lead single from their upcoming debut album, Fate, which showcases the kinetic, tightly coiled sound they've perfected over the past five years across various smaller releases and in the live setting. It's out November 11th via Felte, but you can pre-order a copy now via bandcamp.
