FADER PREMIERE:
If you haven't watched the video that Darkstar recently released for News From Nowhere track "A Day's Pay for a Day's Work," I highly recommend it; it's set in a venue I don't think I've ever seen featured in a music video before (some kind of group, self-improvement therapy session), and gives extra existential significance to the idea of the trust fall. Now, the group is set to release a remix EP for the album, featuring original Darkstar reworks of "Young Hearts" and "Armonica" and this very ominous and hard-driving Motor City Drum Ensemble remix of "A Day's Pay for a Day's Work," which pretty much does away completely with the wistful melody of the original. 01484, as the 12-inch is called, is out October 15th on Warp, with another remix EP, HD7, to follow shortly thereafter, with remixes from Darkstar and Zomby. Says the band of the numerical titles, "01484 and HD7 are the dial code and postal code of Huddersfield and its surrounding areas. We chose to use them on the 12-inches as the remixes are an extension of the record News from Nowhere, which was recorded in Slaithwaite West Yorkshire."
