FADER PREMIERE
Criminally slept-on Minneapolis trio Now, Now's Threads was easily my most-played album of 2012—such a well-done rock LP, nuzzled into the heart-on-sleeve space between Tegan and Sara's The Con and Sky Ferreira's Night Time, My Time. Two years later, as the band records material for its followup, they're releasing a six-track Threads remix EP, out digitally on March 25th via Trans-Records. New York producer Ansible pulls back on the gut-punch of "School Friends" a bit—the lyrics are just so desolate: You have a girlfriend but she's not your girlfriend/ You just like her where she's at… She'll be invisible like you want her/ She'll try to do everything just right for you—but his Tycho-styled, slow-strummed take maintains the most essential thing about the song: as bleak as your early 20s relationship fuck-ups can get, they can also be sooooo beautiful.
