Good news: rising Atlanta producer Metro Boomin and golden boy Young Thug are releasing an album as Metro Thuggin. (Add it to the ballooning list of Thug's upcoming collaborative projects, including the second Black Portland tape and next week's Young Thugger Mane La Flare.) Metro's responsible for some of last year's biggest productions (I'm just being honest), but his lesser beats have a tendency to sound a bit same-y. "The Blanguage," the first release from Metro Thuggin, definitively shakes things up; it's his most interesting production of 2014, trailing off into a dramatic piano solo. Thug steps his game up in kind: he kicks things off mimicking Drake's "The Langauge" flow, but steadily unravels into pained balladeering. For those who think they've pinned down Thug as simply a yelping weirdo, this is a great counter-example.
