Holler If Ya Hear Me is the new, long-awaited musical inspired by (and featuring) the music of the late Tupac Shakur. It was announced today that the hip-hop world's poet laureate, Saul Williams, has been cast in the lead role. He's not playing Tupac, though — while the play draws heavily from stories embedded in the rapper's words, the narrative itself is a "non-biographical story about friendship, family, revenge, change and hope." Holler If Ya Hear Me, which is being produced by Tupac's mother, Afeni Shakur, opens this summer on Broadway.
