"Snake Jaw"—the new, breathless thrasher from White Lung's upcoming full-length—is wrought with a snarling brashness and a jagged intensity. Playing it now, I can't help but think of the darkly touching essay the band's lead singer Mish Way penned for The Media last year about buying drugs in a retirement home; the story is desperate and ballsy and punk as hell, but also kind of emotional, too. It's essential reading, as "Snake Jaw" is essential listening. White Lung’s new record, Deep Fantasy, is out June 17th via Domino; that's the zine-style cover art up above.
