Stream 30+ New Bedroom-Pop Songs from Frankie Cosmos, Small Wonder and more

Listen to songs that five lo-fi singer/songwriters wrote and recorded every day for a week.

Every day for the past week, like-minded DIY pop artists Florist, Frankie Cosmos, Eskimeaux, Japanese Breakfast and Small Wonder each wrote, recorded and uploaded a song to the internet for a project called May5to12Songs. A lot of them are great, like bedroom songbird Frankie Cosmos' track about lying awake with anxiety that she presumably wrote in the middle of a sleepless night, New York-based Small Wonder's acoustic story about a loner who talks to dogs, or Florist's sweetly-sung apology on Mother's day: I'm sorry I can't be there to hang out in the living room with Paul Newman (man, moms LOVE Paul Newman). Although some other tracks are less memorable, the project is impressive as an entity and functions as a reminder that with this type of songwriting, the smudged, free-associative qualities are an essential part of its appeal. The project wraps up today— listen to all 30something songs right here.
